Pam Nothacker, Director
"I love children. I love teaching," Pam exudes. With thirty years’ experience as an educator or director of children’s programs, she’s the well-qualified leader Tenth Church Preschool is proud to have as its inaugural director. She has a Master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Reading, Writing, and Literacy and delights in creating curriculum around books and sparking children’s imaginations.
Pam has a passion for providing a nurturing context for children. She and her family have welcomed foster children into their home and helped run children’s programs for their church.
An avid athlete herself, Pam is also a big believer in the value of physical activity for children. She directs a swim program in Cape Cod every summer and is a veteran children’s soccer coach.
Kim Jones, Lead Teacher
As a teacher with fourteen years experience, Kim explains, "My goal has always been to provide a safe and secure learning environment where children can thrive, flourish, and always feel accepted." Evaluators in New Jersey applauded her work and awarded her the Governor's Certificate for Outstanding Performance.
Certified in both elementary education and Reading Recovery, Kim has a special interest in crafting curriculum to aid emergent readers. Besides traditional classroom teaching, she has worked as a reading specialist, coordinated summer reading camps for rising kindergartners, and even served a four-year stint as a PTA president.
She proudly parents twin teen daughters and is an avid fan of Jersey beaches.
Lee Anne Macalino, Music Together Teacher
Lee Anne, our new Music Together specialist, brings over thirty years of experience as a music teacher in Haddon Heights public schools. “All children are musical!” she exclaims. Discovering how to support children as they develop musically has long been a passion. Besides the Music Together training, Lee Anne has taken Kodaly Certification courses, and John Feierabend’s classes.
She is excited to be now working in a preschool, and when the preschoolers see her, guitar in hand, entering the classroom they are enthusiastic too.
Christine Goligher, Assistant Director
Christine established her expertise as a preschool teacher while working in London. There she combined the educational acumen she had gleaned from years teaching high school chemistry with the insights she had developed as mother to five. She is a master at helping children through transitions, a skill she honed shepherding her own brood through international moves. She and her family lived in Canada, Scotland, Ireland, and England before moving to Philadelphia. She assumes leadership of the preschool when the director is away and brings a quiet, winsome wisdom to bear.
She is married to Liam Goligher, Senior Minister of Tenth Church, and helps host Tenth's community playgroup where she is known for her delectable cakes.
Kimberly Wynne, Pre-K Teacher
When Kimberly Wynne surveys the classroom, she does so with an experienced eye. She comes to Tenth Preschool fresh from eight years as a first-grade teacher, and spent many years prior to that serving in a preschool, both as a teacher and director. She knows how to draw children in and give just the right encouragement to move them to the next level. "I love watching children flourish and learn in their own time," she confides.
An avid gardener, Kimberly loves the brilliant colors of zinnias and treasures the rare afternoon reading historical fiction or biking. And now that their own children are grown, she and her husband Carroll are widening their horizons by opening their home to international students.
